Kory Antoniadis takes 1st in his Division in both Git and No-Gi.

Joey Yanis also takes the Gold at NAGA NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS! Other Champs and Medal winners include Mason & Austin Rambarose, Sofia & Mia Macaluso, Brian & Jacob Lombardi. Sarah Becht also showed great courage in both of her divisions.

  November 9th, 2008

Jahan Muhammad took home a belt after winning the "Expert" Division at the North American Grappler Association championships.

He won 3 Gold medals in Gi and No-Gi Divisions.

 

Nick Koenig, Budo Jiu Jitsu, budo jj, Heath Macaluso, Aikido school of Self-Defense, Monticello, NY, karate, martial artsNicholas Koenig won the Gold in No Gi and won one of his matches by Triangle Choke.  Michael LaRuffa, also threw some go-go's and triangles to take home the Gold. Elizabeth Koenig & Andrew Benskie took home some silver demonstrating some excellent submissions and positioning.  Shyla Macaluso faced some of her toughest opponents to date in the Expert Division and looks forward to a rematch with the girl who won gold as she took home a silver.

 

Aaron Levine jumped up to Teens/Expert with aspirations of winning the "Belt".  He fought his heart but was edged by a very good grappler, he finished with a bronze.

April 5&6th, 2008.  This past weekend was amazing as Sensei and 12 of his Jiu Jitsu/Grappling students travelled to Newark, New Jersey for the North American Grappler Association (NAGA) World Championships-2008.   

We had students from 8 years old to 36 competing in many different divisions and skill levels.

This was the first tournament for 11 of the 12 representatives of our humble school.  They did amazing taking home Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.

 

Michael Perez of Monticello took a Gold Medal at the North American Grapplers Association World Championships (NAGA). 

He has been training submissions two years and did amazing in his first ever competition in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling.

Aaron Levine wins the Gold in the Light Heavy Weight Divsion

Shyla Macaluso defeated Madison Patrick in a decisions in the finals of the No-Gi Kids Division of 50-60 lbs.

Shyla also competed in Expert/Submissions to grab a silver medal.

Overall she took home One Gold and 3 Silver medals throughout 4 Divisions.
